A Passport to Adventure

NEVER LOOK AT A DIRT ROAD THE SAME

One of our original favorites, the R+ is more than just a bike – it’s a passport to adventure. It’s a huge part of our history here at Revel – we’ve made four iterations of this bike after our original launched in 2016, and we’re quite stoked with this dialed in versatile gravel bike. This bike is the perfect companion for big rides on any surface. With tire clearance of up to 700x50c or 27.5×2.1, the R+ is designed to tackle any terrain with comfort and style.  It even has rack and fender mounts and multiple mounting points inside the front triangle so you can carry gear, but don’t let that deter you for rides when speed is the priority. This bike can hold its own on the cyclocross race track or for 200 miles in the Kansas sun.

Versatility Perfected

WHERE WILL THE R+ TAKE YOU?

Equipped with SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH), this is one of the few gravel bikes that is future proofed for drivetrain compatibility. It has an in-house, Revel-designed carbon fork that optimizes ride quality and tire clearance. And it even has dropper post compatibility – all these features and details make us confident that you’ll be blown away by how and where the R+ takes you.

Revel makes Titanium bikes?!

We do now! Well, in a way, we always have… our sister company, Why Cycles, has been manufacturing the most advanced titanium bikes in the world since 2016. We're retiring the Why Cycles brand, so now you can find the most advanced carbon and titanium bikes on the market under one name - Revel Bikes.

Can I bikepack with my R+?

Yes! It's a great gravel-packer with frame mounts galore.

Does the R+ have rear rack mounts?

Yes!

Can I run a dropper post on my R+?

Sure can, as long as it's a 27.2mm diameter post.

Can I run a non-Revel fork on my R+?

You can indeed. The Revel fork-to-headtube interface is designed to appear "seamless" aesthetically, but all other fork manufacturers should integrate with our head tube. It just may not look the best.

Does the R+ fork have rack/bag mounts?

Not currently.

Can I run a front derailleur on my R+?

No. The R+ is designed to be 1x drivetrain specific and is therefore not compatible with front derailleurs.

What is the best way to polish my titanium frame?

We recommend using some rubbing alcohol and a Scotch Brite pad and scrubbing gently in a "shoe-shine" motion (one direction or back and forth, not circular), then wiping down and finishing with a light coat of furniture polish like Pledge. This should work for both oxidation and light scratches. The graphics are sand-blasted into the frame, so you won't hurt them if you use a soft touch.

Can I run a gravel-specific suspension fork on the R+?

No - this will void the frame warranty. We haven't tested our R+ for the longer A-C of gravel suspension forks. But we prototyped our carbon frame and fork like crazy to settle on a really smooth, comfortable riding gravel bike, so we're confident you'll be extremely pleased with the ride quality!

What is the largest water bottle I can run on the R+?

The R+ was designed to fit 2 22oz water bottles inside the front triangle all sizes. We've included bosses under the down tube for additional bottle or storage carrying capacity on all sizes!

Can this be used as a cyclocross bike?

Of course it can, while it is not yet UCI Certified, we think this would make a great Cross bike if you do not want to have a specific bike for Gravel and Cross.

Can I put flat bars on an R+?

Sure can, not highly recommended based on Geometry, but it does not void warranty

Can I put flat bars on an R+?

Sure can, not highly recommended based on Geometry, but it does not void warranty

Can I put a mountainbike cassette on the R+?

Yes you can, just make sure the chain has enough length for the 52t in the rear! Currently only available with wireless shifting.

What is the crown race angle on the R+ fork?

36 degrees

What is the largest chainring I can run on an R+?

50t round chainring at a 45mm chainline

What chainline should I run on the R+?

The R+ is designed to accomodate either a 45mm chainline or 47.5mm chainline.

UDH COmpatible!? What does that mean?

We've updated all Revel Ti bikes with SRAM UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger), so replacement hangers are easier to find and your bike's drivetrain is more future-proof against manufacturer updates down the line.

Where are the Ti bikes made?

Revel titanium frames are lovingly hand-built in the same family-owned and operated factory in northern China used by Why Cycles for a half-decade. All Revel bikes are then assembled and shipped from our facility in Carbondale, CO.

Is my Why Cycles bike still covered under warranty?

Absolutely! All Why Cycles and Revel Bikes frames come with lifetime warranties and a generous crash replacement program for the original purchaser. If anything does happen and you need a replacement frame, it will most likely be replaced with a Revel branded titanium frame, but we’ll get you back to riding ASAP!
