Overview
Master of Every Trail
The Rascal is back and the absolute best it has ever been! Now with the all-new lightweight Rascal SL frame option (available in our 2 new colorways – Prickly Pear, and Space Dust), it takes speed and efficiency on the up and down to the next level with an advanced carbon layup and nearly 200g lighter than the Rascal V2 frame* (available in Pinot Gnar only). The Rascal provides perfected balance and stability, pairing 130mm of CBF-driven rear travel, a 140mm fork, and a progressive trail geometry making this bike a trail-slaying machine. The original Rascal holds strong in the lineup offered in a reliable build and delivering the best value on the market. Whether you choose the ultra-light Rascal SL or the old faithful OG Rascal, this bike is the best climber, the sturdiest descender, and likely, your best new trail friend.
Key Attributes
The CBF™ focuses the center of curvature in a very finite area on the chainline/top of the chainring, pointing the pedaling forces directly where you want them.

Ever since it first launched, the Revel Rascal has been one of my favorite bikes. Now, it's gotten even better thanks to a new carbon layup. It wasn't that long ago that the Rascal already dropped some weight with the updated V2. Read more...
The Revel Rascal SL is here and it is awesome! It got a little lighter this year and with 130mm of rear travel and an insanely fun CBF suspension design, this bike might just be the bike that every one needs in their quiver! Watch The Full Review...
It might only be 140/130mm of travel, but the new Rascal impressed me with how easily it tackled tough climbs—and then handled everything I threw at it on the descents. I never once questioned if it could handle a feature—it just did. It’s also super nimble, which made ripping through corners an absolute blast. Read more...

We do not – We found the leverage curve of our bikes leaves the shock very tunable. We have successfully set up riders from 95 lbs. to well over 230 lbs.
We only recommend the Push ELEVENSIX coil shock.
The shock size is 210x50mm. The mounting hardware size is 25x8mm.
The Rascal was designed to use a 140mm fork with a 44mm offset and an axle-to-crown length of 547-551mm. You may use a 150mm fork with a maximum axle-to-crown length of 561mm.
No you cannot and while we love experimenting and innovation, doing so will void the warranty.
30% is the recommended amount of sag to run on the Rascal. Start with 30% then you can adjust +/- 5% for a slightly softer or firmer ride.
RockShox Super Deluxe Shock has 2 spacers. Rockshox Lyrik Fork has 1 volume spacer. Fox Float X has a 0.4 volume spacer. Fox Float 36 fork has 2 volume spacers.
No we do not recommend doing this. The Rasal was designed to be ridden as a full 29er and performs at its best in this configuration.
The Rascal uses a BSA 73mm threaded bottom bracket.
The Rascal features ISCG-05 tabs. This is a common mounting standard for chainguides and bash guards that you can find from great companies like MRP, OneUp, and E13.
36T ROUND / 34T OVAL.
Maximum rear tire size is 29x2.6.
31.6mm seatpost diameter. 34.9mm seat clamp diameter.
All sizes have a max seatpost insertion depth of 300mm+.
Minimum Rotor size is 180mm. Maximum rotor size is 203mm.
Yes! Following feedback from the original Rascal, we are excited to have a lower link debris guard included with every Rascal frame.
Yes, the Rascal is equipped with UDH to keep it compatible with the latest and greatest drivetrain technologies.
IS52/IS42mm Integrated headset.
The rear hub spacing is 148mm, also known as ""Boost". The axle is 12mm diameter, 177mm long, 1.0mm thread pitch.
You can – You will need to order the shock directly from Fox and ensure you purchase the correct tune for our bikes. This is important to maximize how awesome your Revel can be! Fox has a tune guide for our bikes on file. Unfortunately due to our agreement with Fox, you are not able to buy Fox suspension directly from Revel unless is ships on your new bike.
Sizes Small through XL frames will fit one bottle within the front triangle and a second bottle on the underside of the downtube. All sizes will clear a 22oz bottle. Larger sizes will have clearance for 26oz bottles. The XXL size can fit a 3rd 22oz bottle on the underside of the toptube
55mm Chainline
Yes! Head to Revel's gear store to find all paint colors available today to touch up any dings you've collected along the way.
Shock mount hardware and chainline are affected between original Rascal and New Rascal, but are easily adapted to work with each other. When you buy a New Rascal frame from Revel it includes a shock so you are all set there, but if you are transferring a shock from the Original Rascal to the New Rascal then please note the mounting hardware has been updated from 22.2x8mm to 25x8mm. You will need a 25x8mm hardware kit. These are specific to the brand of shock you have and are easily obtainable online or from your local bike shop. this is a quick install by a bike mechanic. Minimum chainline on the Original Rascal was 52mm and now minimum chainline on the New Rascal is 55mm. Most cranksets designed for a 52mm chainline can be adapted to 55mm by installing a new chainring with a different offset. This is commonly a 0mm offset, but some brands do it differently. WolfTooth Components is a great source for information and purchasing these chainrings. Please call Revel Customer Service if you have more questions about this.
Unfortunately not at this time. We have spec'd the Basecamp Deore kit with the Pinot Gnar V2 frame and we can't make any swaps for the SL frames. But the Pinot is definitely a crowd favorite and will only be around for a limited time so get it while you can!
